Hach TU5 Series TU5300sc low range laser turbidimeter with cylindrical measurement vial

TU5 Series®

The TU5 Series brings lab-quality turbidity measurement to your process. Using patented 360° x 90° detection, the TU5300sc reads the scattered laser light around the entire circumference of the sample vial — dramatically reducing the effects of stray light and particle interference for confident measurement down to 0.002 NTU/FNU. Configure the instrument, calibration, and compliance options you need below.

The TU5300sc is an online low-range laser turbidimeter for drinking water, filtration, and membrane applications. Its 360° x 90° detection method captures more scattered light than traditional 90°-only nephelometers, delivering greater sensitivity and tighter agreement between lab and process instruments. Choose from four instrument heads, optional RFID and System Check, and EPA (NTU) or ISO (FNU) regulatory versions.

We'll help you get the right configuration

Not sure whether you need the flow sensor, automatic cleaning module, RFID, or System Check? Our water-quality specialists can help you match the exact TU5300sc configuration to your regulatory framework and application before you order.

Turbidity monitoring: frequently asked questions

Conventional nephelometers read scattered light from a single 90° angle. The TU5 Series detector surrounds the sample vial and collects scattered light across the full 360° circumference at a 90° plane. Capturing more of the scattered signal improves sensitivity at low turbidity, reduces the influence of stray light and individual particles, and produces more repeatable results — which is why lab and process TU5 instruments agree so closely.
